Cluster Cross Country
3, 2, 1 Beeeeeeeep!!!!!! Mr VB blew the horn and everybody started running like maniacs. Pinehill runners kept close to each other near the front. People were yelling, " Let's go Pinehill, let's go! The first hill was in my sight, I ran up the hill like a speedy car and I overtook 2 Pinehurst students. I went across and down to where a parent was standing.
The big hill was ahead off us, all this training was paying off right now, right here. People from other schools were slowly walking up the hill like if they were a turtle. I overtook 2 more people and I was right behind a Browns Bay person. As we were running around the little field, my legs started to ache, I just kept going and I was up to my 2nd lap. A Murray's Bay person was just right behind me and I splashed some water onto her. ( Whoops! ) I was getting closer to the Browns Bay person, but I just couldn't keep up to her. After our final lap, ( this is the worst part.... ) an adult pointed us to the WRONG DIRECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we had to do an EXTRA 1/2 a lappppp!!! Mr VB then led us around the finishing shoot and I sprinted my little heart out and I came.................. 20th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After the year 6 boys race, we waited patiently until Mr VB came and awarded the trophy. Browns Bay School came 1st :( ( Bet us by 32 points, I'm pretty sure.) Pinehill School came 2nd :( Murrays Bay came 3rd, and Pinehurst came 4th.
Overall, Mr VB, Mrs Davies and Mrs Everett was very proud of us for coming 2nd.
Without Mr VB, Mrs Davies, Mrs Everett, Mr Westen, all the adults / parents who helped and all the students that ran their little hearts out............. this day would have not been a SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

If I Were A Book
If I were a book
People would be flipping
my pages in amazement
while they discover new facts
If I were a book
Children would read
me and snuggle up
in the corner like
koala hugging a branch
If I were a book
Authors would type me
up and sell me to make
themselves famous
If I were a book
I would sit on the
shelves in the
library watching
people smile while
they read my friends

Elegirbra
In Room 22, for topic, we had to make up our own made up animals. It could be combined with animals we like, or dislike. My made up animal is called Elegirbra. It is combined with an Elephant, Giraffe and a Zebra. It lives in Africa near water and trees and some of their adaptations are: long eyelashes to keep the fleas away, Horns to defeat their predators, a long neck to eat the leafs and a tail to keep the fleas away.
